ITMO University Instituteof Mathematics
In June 2025, ITMO University established the Institute of Mathematics, the purpose of which is to strengthen the mathematical training of specialists in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and other high-tech areas. The Institute will work on an end-to-end model, supporting the university's faculties and developing fundamental research.
Main objectives
Creation of a mathematical basis for AI
providing an evidence base and technology security.
Advanced training of specialists in all main areas of mathematics
including linear algebra, mathematical analysis, differential equations, mathematical physics and other disciplines.
Cooperation with faculties
for example, cryptography for BIT, mathematics for robotics) and industrial partners. The Institute will also welcome free mathematical creativity, because without it, the development of mathematics is impossible.
